Heavy Equipment Rental in Dammam and the Eastern Province

In the Eastern Province, the hard part of hiring a machine is rarely the machine. It is getting it through a plant gate with the right papers and an operator the site will accept.

This page sets out the heavy equipment rental Dammam contractors can book from FSAK Contracting. We supply operated cranes, excavators, earthmoving plant, trucks and generators across Dammam, Al Khobar, Dhahran and Jubail. Machines and crews mobilise from our Riyadh base, about 400 km away by highway.

FSAK is a Riyadh-based construction contractor with more than 20 years in Saudi Arabia. We plan each move around your gate rules, permit dates and shift times.

What equipment can you rent from FSAK for Dammam projects?

FSAK rents excavators, mobile and tower cranes, dozers, graders, loaders, dump trucks, rollers, concrete pumps and generators. They serve sites across Dammam, Al Khobar, Dhahran and Jubail. Hire runs daily, weekly or monthly. Cranes, excavators, dump trucks and concrete pumps come with an FSAK operator.

These are the same machines we run on our own contracts and for equipment rental in Riyadh. The size ranges below come from our published fleet. Tell us the duty and we will match the class to it.

Why is equipment hire different in the Eastern Province?

Much of the work here sits inside or beside oil, gas and petrochemical plants. These sites check inspection papers and operator cards before a machine comes through the gate. The region also adds summer heat, humidity, salty air and long permitted road moves. Each one changes how a rental should be planned.

Plant sites check machines at the gate

Jubail Industrial City covers 1,016 km² and lies about 100 km north of Dammam, The Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu also runs Ras Al-Khair, about 60 km further north. Sites like these set their own entry rules for plant and people.

It looks for valid periodic inspection stickers, load charts and certified crane operators, as Cranes Today reported in 2022. We build the paperwork pack to match it.

Heat, humidity and salt are hard on machines

Dammam reaches up to 46°C between May and August, with hot and humid weather, Heat strains engines, hydraulics and batteries. Salty coastal air also speeds up rust on pins, wire rope and exposed steel.

Large machines need a permit to travel

Saudi road rules limit a standard truck load to 2.6 m wide, 4.8 m high and 23 m long (Riyadh Daily). Large excavators, dozers and crane parts are often wider than 2.6 m on a lowbed. Those moves need an exceptional load permit from the Roads General Authority.

Which papers should come with a rented crane or excavator?

Ask for the papers before the machine leaves the yard, not at the gate. A typical pack holds the inspection certificate and sticker, the crane load chart and the operator’s licence. Add insurance details and a lift plan for any planned lift. Your site may ask for more.

Crane rental in Dammam: what should you send us?

To quote a crane, we need the load weight, the lift radius and height, and your dates. We also need to know the ground at the crane position. With those, our lift supervisor can size the crane and draft a lift plan for your site to review.

• Load weight, including slings, shackles and any spreader bar
• Radius from the crane’s centre to where the load lands
• Hook height and nearby obstructions, such as pipe racks or overhead lines
• Ground type at the outrigger positions, such as paving, compacted fill or sabkha
• Number of lifts, working days and shift pattern
• Your site’s permit-to-work and lift approval rules

Coastal ground around Dammam and Al Khobar can include sabkha, a salt flat soil that loses strength when wet. Outrigger mats or a built crane pad may be needed.

Our crews can build that pad through our site preparation and enabling works, on the same order

How does an FSAK rental for Dammam work?

A rental runs in six steps: scope, quote, paperwork, mobilisation, site work and demobilisation. Gate paperwork and road permits can hold up a start in the Eastern Province. So we begin both while the quote is being agreed, not after it.

1. Scope. You send the machine type, duty, location, dates and site rules. For complex lifts, we can book a site visit first.
2. Quote. We price the machine, operator, transport and permits as separate lines.
3. Paperwork. We send inspection certificates, operator documents, insurance and the crew list for your gate passes.
4. Mobilisation. The machine travels from Riyadh by lowbed, under an exceptional load permit when it is oversized.
5. Site work. Our operator works under your permit-to-work system. Our field maintenance team supports the machine while it is on hire.
6. Demobilisation. We remove the machine, close out the paperwork and agree the final hours.

Where in the Eastern Province does FSAK work?

We mobilise to Dammam, Al Khobar, Dhahran and Jubail, along with nearby industrial zones and project sites. Machines and crews travel from our Riyadh base. So we plan every job around lead time, road permits and gate access. Construction equipment for Al Khobar and Jubail follows the same process, but each site has its own rules.

Bare rental, operated rental or a works package?

Choose bare rental if your own qualified crew will run the machine. Choose operated rental if you want FSAK to supply the operator. Need a finished result, such as a cleared and compacted yard? Then a works package with FSAK as contractor can be simpler than renting machines one by one.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does it take to get equipment from Riyadh to Dammam or Jubail?

Dammam is about 400 km from Riyadh by highway. Jubail is about 100 km further north. A machine within normal load limits needs no special road permit. Oversized machines need a Roads General Authority permit and daylight travel, so they take longer to arrange.

Price depends on machine class and size, hire period, operator needs and the distance from Riyadh. Oversize permits, site access rules and fuel arrangements also count. We show each cost as its own line in the quote.

Report it to our team straight away and stop work under your site rules. Our field maintenance team carries critical spares and will repair the machine or arrange a replacement
